Móstoles covers an area of 45.4 km2 and is the second most populous town in the Region of Madrid. It is located 18 km to the south of the capital and belongs to its metropolitan area. Geographically it is located in the central area between the Central Plateau and the River Guadarrama Valley. It is known as the Great Capital of the South of Madrid, which includes the area between the towns of Navalcarnero, Alcorcón, Fuentidueña de Tajo and Aranjuez. Móstoles is also home to the Scientific Technology park, King Juan Carlos University, the UNED University and one of the Provincial Traffic Police examination centres.
