Barrio de Salamanca is one of the main shopping areas in the city and is the area that many national and international luxury brands chose for their shops in Madrid.
The exclusive zone known as the Golden Mile, is emphasised, comprising Calle Serrano and Calle Ortega y Gasset. Other shops in the Salamanca District are as follows: Dolores Promesas, Sita Murt, Christian Louboutin, Versace, Carmina, Amaya Arzuaga, Etxart&Panno, Uterqüe, La FéeMaraboutée, TheKooples, Úrsula Mascaró y Durán Joyería, among others.
The commercial offer in the district is completed with the ABC Serrano shopping centre and El Corte Inglés. Furthermore, the former shopping centre El Jardín de Serrano has been substituted for the Japanese firm Uniqlo, which has opened its first store in Spain on an area of 1590 square metres at No. 6, Calle Goya.
This area is also home to some of Madrid’s art galleries and auction houses. Galería Fernández-Braso, David Bardía and Galería Parra & Romero are just some of them.
