Simancas is a quarter belonging to the San Blas - Canillejas district with most business activity.
It is home to the Julián Camarillo Industrial Estate, an area where there are many technology companies. Julián Camarillo is located in an area between Madrid airport and the city centre, owing to which many multinational companies and major corporations in the technology sector have decided to establish in this area, consequently known as Silicon Alley Madrid.
Silicon Alley Madrid is an association of technology companies located within the geographical framework of Madrid’s technology mile.
This came about and further developed due to three main reasons:
- Connection with the type of electricity supply that the big data centres required.
- Its proximity to Telefónica’s Trunk Link.
- The good physical connections, since it is near Barajas airport, the city centre and other business areas (Plaza Castilla, AZCA, etc.).
